time of your life

Aloha!! I have never had a post that talked about my personal experience or thoughts in my blog so far, however recently I have wanted to do that, especially about my experience here abroad in UW-Whitewater Wisconsin.

For a start here are a couple of words that I quote from Chancellor Martha Saunders blog’s apparently this is a letter from marketing professor Lois Smith sharing her point of view about student doing abroad time

For about ten years now, I have been the coordinator of a student exchange between UW-Whitewater and Arnhem Business School in the Netherlands. My students change dramatically during their experience. They even “look” different when they return. At first they are tentative and worried, and by the time they leave, they are truly citizens of the world…Working as a coordinator is one of the most rewarding things I do as a professor.
This example drives home the fact that in Wisconsin, and also across the United States, students who choose to engage in international education and exchange opportunities are truly changed forever

Spending the time abroad really did change me in many aspects. it change the way I take a look at the world outside, at the beginning I think it would not be a big deal for me doing time abroad since I am already abroad from my home country Indonesia, as a student in Arnhem business school in the Netherlands, but in fact it has been a challenge for me adjusting to the new surroundings, new people, new culture, and even how you would do things.

Despite the ups and the downs I have here it has been a very rewarding experience for me it changed me forever and for that I am very grateful.

For those who still thinking about it I’d say do it! Be the citizens of the world.
