life is a winding road

For those who don’t know yet about the new Airbus A380 you are seriously need to read more National Geographic magazine or watch more Discovery channel. It has been 6 years since the supervisory board of airbus launch this multi million Euro project. This plane is designed to bring an end of Boeing dominancy in super-jumbo commuter passenger plane.

Airbus A380 is capable of carrying 555 passengers in a three class configuration to 853 passengers in a single class configuration (god it’s huge), capable of flying 15.000 kilometers non-stop or roughly the distance from Chicago to Sidney. There are many other high tech features that airbus offer but I am not going to bored you with that.

I would like to see more into the development of the project now. Airbus is facing some major delay of 2 years announced earlier this week, emirates one of its biggest customer is threatening to cancel some of their option order. It seems that it is a very long and rough road ahead for airbus. The company revenue is dropping sharply because of this problem.

I am a big fan of Airbus plane so I just want to say that Airbus just have to try to make their production more efficient in the future, and they also have to remember that Boeing its main competitor is almost went bankrupt when they introduce the Boeing 747 to the market. It turned up that the project is a major success for them.

But we’ll see how Airbus will wrap the problem. Maybe this project will be a major success and Airbus concept paid off or another financial disaster for the company. Only time will answer.

What clear now is that airbus must haul ass, because in the near future Boeing will introduce the new Boeing 747NG.
